All Cakes made by Sarah Belgard at The White Butterfly Cake Company are subject to the following terms and conditions:
a. INGREDIENTS
i. All cakes are made in an environment where nuts, wheat, dairy products & alcohol are stored and used. Whilst every effort is made to keep these ingredients separate, no guarantee can be made that cakes will not contain traces of any of these ingredients. It is the responsibility of the client to notify all persons consuming the cake.
ii. All ingredients are of the highest freshest quality and free range eggs are always used.
iii. Our award winning fruit cake recipe contains both nuts and alcohol, we are very happy to make you a fruitcake without these ingredients and should you require this, please let us know at least 4 months before the event.
iv. Our orange buttercream contains Cointreau, but this can be omitted on request.The chocolate & cherry cake contains Cherry Schnapps, this can be omitted on request but it won’t taste like chocolate cherry cake anymore.
v. Our Bailey’s Irish cream buttercream I’m afraid cannot be made without the Baileys! All other buttercreams are alcohol free.
vi. The Almond sponge and buttercream is full of nuts!
b. ORDERING & CONFIRMATION
i. All orders are taken on diary availability.
ii. 3 months are required for wedding/civil ceremony cakes.
iii. 2 weeks are required for all other celebration cakes.
iv. We may be able to take short notice commissions depending on the time scale and complexity of the cake, we are always happy to help if we can.
v. Once an order has been made and a deposit taken, you will receive a receipt and confirmation note detailing your order. Please check this carefully to ensure that we have all of the details correct and let us know as soon as possible if we haven’t!
vi. All quotes are valid for 30 days, after this time a new quote will be required.
c. DEPOSIT
i. We require a deposit on placement of order to secure your booking, which is deducted from the final balance. Deposits are non refundable.

Celebration cakes - £30
ii. Payment can be made by cash or cheque, please make cheques payable to The White Butterfly Cake Company.
d. FINAL BALANCE PAYMENTS
i. Wedding cakes/civil ceremony (inc. Cupcake designs) - 2 weeks prior to the wedding date
Celebration cakes – 1 week prior to collection/delivery date.
ii. The cake remains the property of The White Butterfly Cake Company and will not be supplied until full payment (and cheques cleared) has been made.
iii. Payment can be made by cash or cheque, please make cheques payable to The White Butterfly Cake Company
e. LATE ORDERS (payments)
i. Wedding/civil ceremony cakes booked with less than 3 months to the celebration date, 50% balance is payable on booking, final balance is due 2 weeks prior to the wedding date.
ii. Celebration cakes booked with less than 2 weeks to collection/delivery date, full payment is required at time of booking.
f. DECORATION SERVICE ONLY
i. The White Butterfly Cake Company is happy to decorate your cake but of course cannot take responsibility for the quality of the cake itself.
ii. The price is dependent on the quantity of decoration required.
g. CANCELLATION
We understand that sometimes it’s just unavoidable, but as your cake is bespoke and made to order we are unable to re-use it, so, should you need to cancel your cake the following will apply:
i. Payment is chargeable for work already carried out, if this is within the amount of deposit already paid no more monies are due.
ii. Full balance payment is required if cancellation is within 1 month of a wedding/civil ceremony date, 50% of cake balance is required if cancellation is within 3 to 1 months of a wedding/civil ceremony date.
iii. Full balance payment if cancellation is within 1 week for any other cake.
h. HIRED EQUIPMENT
i. Cake prices quoted will include complimentary use of most stands, separators, pillars and a cake knife (if required). However, a deposit will be required for the use of these items, which will be refunded in full on their safe return within 5 days of date of use (unless by pre-arrangement).
ii. Late return of any equipment will unfortunately result in loss of deposit and a daily charge of £5.00.
iii. Hired equipment will be considered no longer a case of a “late return” if not returned within 2 weeks from the day of the event. Costs to repair/replace damage to hired equipment will be deducted from deposits paid.
iv. We reserve the right to seek additional compensation for hired equipment not returned.
v. Where a piece of equipment has to be commissioned or sourced especially for your use, this charge will be passed onto you. We will let you know about this as soon as possible.
vi. Even if I am not making your cake, you are still welcome to hire stands and other display equipment for a reasonable charge.
i. DELIVERY & SETUP or COLLECTION
i. Cakes can be delivered and set up at your venue subject to availability, any arrangements for delivery may be subject to change, however prior notice will be given where possible.
ii. Delivery within a 10-mile radius will be free. Delivery outside the 10-mile radius will be charged at 40p per mile (round trip).
iii. A set up may be charged dependent upon the complexity of the cake, you will be informed of this at time of booking.
Alternatively, cakes can be collected from our premises, usually on the day, or the day before the event, as agreed between us.
iv. Celebration cakes are usually collected from our premises on the day or the day before the event, as agreed between us.
Delivery can be arranged if you are unable to collect the cake, and will be charged per mile (round trip).
v. All cakes are delivered boxed.
vi. We do not offer specific delivery times. If you require your cake before a specified time please notify us and we shall do all we can to accommodate you.
vii. Please ensure that the cake presentation table at the venue is level, stable and strong enough to hold the weight of your cake.
viii. All orders require a signature on delivery. Please note that we accept no responsibility for delivery if a signature is not provided.
ix. The White Butterfly Cake Company cannot not be held responsible for any interference/damage with the cake once it has been delivered /collected and signed for.
x. Cookies and favours can be collected, delivered or couriered to your required destination.
j. STORAGE
i. Sugar paste (the soft icing covering the cake) is not designed to be refrigerated and as such cakes should be stored on a flat surface in a cool dry place, preferably in the box they were supplied in. refrigeration may cause colours to run and dry out the sponge cake itself. Sponge cakes should be consumed within 5 days of the event.
ii. Our fruit cakes can keep beautifully for many months when stored correctly. We are happy to let you know how to do this.
k. NON EDIBLE ITEMS
i. Most cakes will have some non edible items either in or on them. These may include for example: Dowels to support the tiers, wires within flowers or posy picks (these are small plastic wire holders to protect the cake coming into contact with non edible elements). We will inform you/the venue at the time of collection/delivery of these items. It is then the responsibility of the signee to relay this information to all relevant parties prior to consumption, ie: the person cutting & serving the cake!
l. DESIGN
i. Any cake ordered from a picture or photo of a cake produced by any other cake maker, can only be reproduced as our interpretation of that cake and will not be an exact reproduction of the cake in the picture or photo.
ii. We cannot guarantee to match the exact colour and designs chosen. Every effort will be made to ensure that the final product is matched to the colours chosen as much as possible.
iii. If an inscription, colour or any other choice is left un-selected on your order and we are unable to contact you for confirmation then we reserve the right to use our own discretion.
m. SUGAR FLOWERS
i. Where cakes feature hand-made sugar flowers, these are included in the price if the cake is ordered as seen.
ii. Bespoke sugar flowers are priced individually.
iii. Fresh flowers are NOT included in these prices.
n. VIEWINGS
i. Please note cakes with sponge tiers may not be completed until the day prior to/or the day of the celebration to ensure the cakes are as fresh as possible, so please pre-arrange viewings of any cakes ordered. No liability will be taken by The White Butterfly Cake Company for any omissions or errors on cakes if they are not viewed prior to the event.
o. PUBLICATIONS
i. The White Butterfly Cake Company has designs published in national magazines and other media from time to time and we reserve the right to use any design images created by us at a later date.
p. PRIVACY POLICY
i. The privacy of The White Butterfly Cake Company clients is very important to us. We will never divulge names of clients and do not share client details with other companies. Your details are kept strictly private and confidential, for our use and records only.
q. MISCELLANEOUS

ii. The White Butterfly Cake Company reserve the right to change our terms and conditions at any time and will apply to any subsequent orders.
iii. If we find a pricing error on our site we will inform you as soon as possible and give you the opportunity, if you wish, of reconfirming your order at the correct price, or cancelling it. If we cannot contact you we will cancel the order. If you cancel due to a pricing error on our part and you have paid for the cake you will be given a full refund.
iv. We reserve the right to cease any special offers or promotions at any time
